Help Grandpa save the farm!
Recently, I was asked by an older gentleman and his wife (pictured below) if I was interested in buying his classic car collection. It seems he has collected nearly 50 classic cars and other Items over the years and most have been stored for 25 or 30 years in or around a barn located on a 12 acre parcel he and his wife had planned to build a house on someday. They explained that 2 months earlier they had lost their home at sheriff's sale and the farm was about to face the same fate. The sale was scheduled for the following week! All they wanted was to save the farm.
Instead, I quickly arranged to pay off all of the liens and go to work on getting the cars readied for sale so that we can get them the house of their dreams! This is where you can help! I have listed and sold everything from a 1954 Kaiser Darrin to a 1970 Superbird.
There are other nice ones yet to come, however others that I'll be offering aren't so nice. It's a shame, but some of them were stored outside. Can you imagine a 1969 Roadrunner 440-4 Speed Convertible buried up to its rocker panels in dirt! Thank goodness the Superbird was stored inside!
But let's talk about this incredibly solid 1983 Riviera Convertible that fortunately was stored inside.
Mechanic's Overview Report
1983 Buick Riviera Convertible
Hi! I am Elrod. The mechanic that has been preparing these cars for auction and your future enjoyment. My job, if possible, is to get these cars running, driving and stopping. I am taking great care in getting these cars running after so many years so as to not damage the engines or drive trains. I am not restoring or rebuilding these cars and am only replacing the critical parts needed to reach this goal. I am also not going over every nook and cranny but making observations as I go. I am also taking most of the pictures and try to represent the car as honestly as I can. These are my observations.
This Buick has been stored for approximately 5 years. We got it to start and it sounded decent until it caught on fire (scorched the hood). This beauty even has factory air conditioning! As you can see by the photographs this would be a nice solid project car that you could be proud to own or use for parts. It has the original 350 V8. Parker has me very busy with "high dollar" cars right now so this one was put on the back burner. If it doesn't hit the reserve he'll probably have me go over it and then I'll be able to give you a much better report.
Thank you, Elrod.
GENERAL DISCLOSURE
We don't have the time and/or money to do a complete and thorough inspection on each of these vehicles and as such you are buying this car on an "AS-IS" basis. If you have any questions however, please feel free to call Elrod directly at (419) 466-8722. It's best to call him in the evening E.S.T. Thank you.
The title is clear and lien free.
I have 12 acres and several barns and buildings full of cars, antiques, gas pumps, horse drawn sleighs, tools, shot guns, carousel horses, die cast cars, antiques of every kind, and virtually 1000's of car parts to liquidate. I also have 100's of die cast cars that I'll be listing. I am not going to take the time to inspect each and every one of them, however each is in its original box. Suffice it to say that the boxes are mediocre at best. For those collector's out there, I'm sure there's something you're missing that I might have. Stay tuned! We accept checks, Money Orders, Paypal and Cashier's Checks.
In closing, allow me to ask you to keep an eye on this and everything else that I'll be posting so that we can raise enough money to build the Mercer's their new home!
I know that there are skeptics who hear on the internet about a guy that finds a barn full of old classic cars and becomes an instant millionaire.
This story however, is true... except the millionaire part. The money will be used to pay me back for paying off the liens and expenses and the rest will be used to build their new house and maybe have a nice nest egg for them.
For those non-believers, simply type in local.live.com. You do not have to put in WWW. Simply put this address in the box provided (10360 Monclova Road, Monclova, Ohio). The property is the one with all of the cars and 2 ponds. We now have everything moved off the property and either in storage or on display for inspection in Toledo.
Feel free to call me at 419-841-5999 to ask about this item or others that are currently listed (not future items as there are too many to sort through). Leave a message if need be and I'll return your call or e-mail promptly.
I will not end the auction early for any reason, however if this car does not hit the reserve, I reserve the right to offer it to the highest bidder.
