I'm just out of time to give this car the love and attention it deserves. It definitley needs work as you can see.
This 1960 Jaguar has the look and feel of a Rolls Royce/Bentley from the same era. The car has potential to be either put pack together, be used for parts to complete your current project, or be turned it a custom hot rod.
If you are looking for parts, you can see from the outside pictures that most of the body parts are present, doors with window frames, glass and mechanisms in old but working condition - door panels are either missing or in poor condition. The inside door handles are missing. The doors are all working and have a nice solid feel to them when opened and closed. The front hood (Sales on this alone can be worth $700) and trunk lid are present and in fair to good condition. The trunk lid might have some fiberglass work on it but overall is in good shape given its age.
This car also came original with a sun roof and it is still on the car. The sun roof slides fairly well but needs some lubrication and adjustment. The inside control handle seems to work but looks like overall the sunroof appears to be in good shape. The front grill is also present and needs some TLC.
The running gear is present - top quality Jaguar parts for the suspension both front and rear that most hod rod builders will want for their current projects for that great Jaguar ride and handling potential.
All glass is present for all doors, front and rear windows. The side wing windows are missing but easily replicated. The rear wheel skirts are missing. The original radiator is included. The original gas tank is also present but only usable as a pattern. Much of the original soundproofing and trunk pads are also present as well as the seats. Of course the upholstery will need to be redone. I have the rear bumper. Even the upper roof and drip rails are still intact and the floorboards still look good under the car feel very solid. It has it's original differntial and drive shaft.
The steering mechanism and tie rods, etc. are all present and appear to be in good working order but the top section of the steering shaft at the engine/interior wall where the shaft goes into the interior/dash is missing
Overall the body is straight and the alignment is good. There are small dents and body work that needs to be done to get the car ready for paint. There are also areas of rust towards the bottom of the body such as in the rear of the car underneath where the bumper and at the bottom of the doors. Nothing insurmountable for someone wiht body working skills.
If you are interested in making it a hot rod, a Ford or or Chevy small Block V8 will fit readily. This seems to be what most people are doing now with these cars when they are missing the engine and transmission as this car is.
Much of the exterior chrome trim and interior wood is not present. The wood that I do have will need to be refinished. About 98% of the interior components accessories and dashboard are missing.
