1982 Mercedes-Benz 280 SL
4-Door 200 series 126 Sedan
You are bidding on an excellent imported Mercedes-Benz which was made in germany and shipped overseas. This particular vehicle is unique in that it was imported by Eurotech Motors Inc. on the date of manufacture: 9 - 14 - 1982, with all original german text and style - Vin number: WDB12602212069564. Everything on the car is original right down to the paint just below 143,000 miles. The engine still runs strong and can be driven right off the lot. It is the 3rd owner which has been well taken care of and maintained in Augusta, Maine by a respected couple. This can be a daily driver with some TLC or an excellent restoration project for the right mercedes-benz lover who is looking for such a unique find. It is drivable but recommended for an inexpensive tow behind another vehicle or trailered. Will be sold as is, the listing will display both good and bad aspects so you know exactly what you will be bidding on.
Features that are unique:
- Manual interior heating controls (a feature only in about the first 25,000 produced)
- Interior book lights for passangers and driver visor and handles
- Manual lumbar back support for driver and passanger, german pump and release
- Text and labels in german with american dash
Work that has been performed with ownership:
No major mechanical work has been performed on it since it was a daily driver, stored in the winter and driven for the summer. The exhaust was replaced in the past year for just over $600 and a brand new oem spare tire, for the price of $200. Needless to say, this Mercedes is ready for a new owner who can bring more life and perhaps restore the vehicle to increased value.
Drivability and other details:
- Engine runs strong, starts every time
- Should be driven as an every day driver or classic restoration
- Heat and fans work, both passanger and driver
Known issues:
- AC does not work, just needs recharge and fan belt
- Radio does not work at the moment
- Windshield washer bin was taken out for cleaning, needs to be put back in
- Light rust by bumpers and fenders by the wheels
- Slight pull to the left while driving, needs front end alignment
- Brakes need to be bled and replaced for full braking power
- Small hole in rear bumber
- Driver side parking light ficture has slight crack
- Paint has minor wear and scratches in some spots

It is the buyer’s responsibility to inspect the car upon completion of the sale. Once the sale is finalized the vehicle becomes the sole responsibility of the buyer. A deposite of $500 after purchase is required and will be deducted from total price after arrangements. Seller has the right to pull ad before closing.
